Stirling UniversityMarshall Construction has been appointed to the Single Multi-trade Principal Contractor (Minor Building alterations and Refurbishments) Framework for the University of Stirling.

The University of Stirling is a teaching and research institution that provides education founded on innovation and excellence. Established by Royal Charter in 1967, Stirling is among the world’s top 50 universities under 50 years old. They are an agent for change, connecting people, innovating and transforming the lives of their students, staff and the communities they serve.

The Framework covers a wide and diverse range of work activities including minor works projects, larger refurbishment projects and reactive and planned maintenance activities. The new Framework seeks to bring together various building trades into one multi-trade agreement for call off by the University either singularly or in multiples for small (minor works) projects and reactive and planned maintenance activities. The University Estate is diverse and is made up of a combination of residential buildings, academic/teaching/research buildings and commercial property.

The framework will be delivered over the next three years, with option to extend by up to 12 months. The anticipated value of work to be carried out under this Framework Agreement is estimated to be £4.6m over the contract period. Marshall Construction has been working successfully with the University of Stirling for over 20 years. This new framework will be very beneficial to the local economy achieving high levels of sustainability and environmental objectives by engaging with local supply chain employing local operatives and utilising local resources to deliver the majority of the workload.

Marshall Construction were successfully appointed following a European wide competitive tender exercise.
